Point of Sale (POS) Settings

This module allows you to configure how your Point of Sale (cash register) screen works. You can customize the layout of the product catalog, decide what information is required during a sale, and set up the different payment methods (Receipt Options) you accept at checkout.

When Do I Use This?

  • When you are setting up a new cash register or checkout terminal for the first time.
  • When you want to add a new payment method (like a new mobile wallet, credit card terminal, or bank transfer option).
  • When you need to adjust the register screen, such as turning off product images so the screen loads faster, or requiring cashiers to collect customer names for every sale.

How To Use

Configuring General Register Settings

  1. Open the POS Settings module from the main menu.
  2. Click + New or select an existing setting profile to edit.
  3. Give your setting a Name (e.g., "Main Store Register").
  4. Check the boxes for how you want products to display (Images, Names, Codes).
  5. Click Save.

Adding a Payment Method (Receipt Option)

You can define what types of payments the cashier can accept (Cash, Credit Card, etc.) inside the main setting screen.

  1. Open your POS Setting.
  2. Scroll down to the Receipt Options section.
  3. Click Add Receipt Option.
  4. Enter the Name (e.g., "Cash", "Mastercard").
  5. Select the financial Account where this money should be deposited.
  6. Check Default if this is the most common payment method used.
  7. Click Save.

Field Descriptions

General Settings

Field Name Description
Name The title of this configuration profile (e.g., "Front Desk Register").
Product Per Page The number of items displayed on one page of the register screen.
Show Product Image If checked, the register will display photos of the items. Turn this off for a simpler, faster list view.
Show Name If checked, the product's name is displayed on its button in the register.
Show Code If checked, the product's barcode or internal item code is displayed on the screen.
Party Required If checked, the cashier must select a customer (Party) before they can finish the sale. Leave unchecked to allow anonymous guest checkouts.
Active Check this to make the settings profile available for use.
Description Internal notes about this register profile.

Receipt Options (Payment Methods)

Field Name Description
Name The name of the payment method the cashier will click (e.g., "Cash", "Visa").
Account The financial bank or cash account where the collected money is recorded.
Default If checked, this payment method is automatically highlighted when the cashier opens the payment screen. (Only set one as Default).
Active If checked, this payment option is visible to the cashier. Uncheck it to hide the option without deleting it.
Photo Id An optional image or icon (like a credit card logo) for the payment button.
Tip: If your cash register is running on an older tablet or has a slow internet connection, uncheck Show Product Image. Text-only buttons load much faster!
Tip: If your business runs a loyalty program or sells items on credit, make sure to check Party Required so cashiers never forget to tag the customer's account to the sale.
