Overview

The IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) module is designed to help fertility clinics and specialists track a patient's complete IVF journey. It provides a central place to record every stage of the cycle, from initial medications and egg/sperm collection to laboratory fertilization, embryo transfer, and freezing (cryopreservation).

When Do I Use This?

  • Starting a Cycle: When a patient is approved and begins a new IVF cycle.
  • Medical Tracking: When nurses need to log ovulation induction medications.
  • Laboratory Updates: When embryologists or lab technicians need to record egg maturity, sperm analysis, fertilization rates, and embryo grading.
  • Procedure Logging: When doctors complete an egg retrieval or embryo transfer procedure.
  • Storage Logging: When the lab freezes eggs, sperm, or embryos for future use.

How To Use

Starting a New IVF Cycle

  1. Go to the Health menu and select IVF.
  2. Click the + New button.
  3. Select the Patient from the system.
  4. Enter the Start Date and type in any relevant Fertility History.
  5. Click Save to create the cycle.

Updating Cycle Stages (Step-by-Step)

Because IVF happens over several weeks, you will return to this record to add information as the patient progresses.

  1. Open the patient's active IVF cycle record.
  2. Scroll down to the specific stage you want to update (e.g., Egg Retrieval or Laboratory Process).
  3. Click Add or + within that section.
  4. Fill out the details for that specific procedure or lab result.
  5. Click Save.

Tip: Always remember to update the Outcome and End Date fields on the main record once a cycle concludes. This ensures your clinic's success rate reports remain accurate.
