Immunization

The Immunization module allows you to record and track vaccines and immunizations given to patients. It helps medical staff keep an accurate history of what vaccines a patient has received and when they are due for their next dose.

When Do I Use This?

  • When you administer a new vaccine to a patient (e.g., an annual flu shot or a childhood immunization).
  • When a patient brings in their vaccination card from another clinic and you need to update their medical record in the system.
  • When you need to schedule or check when a patient is due for their next booster shot.

How To Use

Recording a New Immunization

  1. Navigate to the Immunization screen from the main Health or Patient menu.
  2. Click + New to create a new record.
  3. Select the Patient receiving the vaccine.
  4. Select the specific Vaccine being administered.
  5. Verify or change the Date Given (it will default to today).
  6. Fill out the dosage details (Amount, Unit, and Form).
  7. Review the Next Schedule Dose date and adjust it if the patient needs to return sooner or later than the default 1-year mark.
  8. Click Save to add the immunization to the patient's record.

Field Descriptions

Field Name Description
Vaccine The specific medication or vaccine being administered (e.g., Pfizer COVID-19, Hepatitis B).
Patient The name of the patient receiving the vaccine.
Date Given The exact date the vaccine was administered. By default, this is automatically set to today.
Dosage The frequency or specific dose in a series (e.g., Dose 1, Booster).
Dosage Amount The numeric amount of the vaccine given (e.g., 0.5).
Dosage Unit The unit of measurement for the dosage amount (e.g., ml, mg).
Dosage Form How the vaccine is physically administered (e.g., Injection, Oral Drops).
Next Schedule Dose The date the patient should return for their next shot or booster. The system automatically sets this to exactly 1 year from the "Date Given", but you can manually change it.
Note Any extra details about the vaccination. This is a great place to record the injection site (e.g., "Left Deltoid"), vaccine lot numbers, or any immediate side effects observed.
Tip: To save you time, the system automatically fills in today's date for the Date Given and sets the Next Schedule Dose to exactly one year later. Always double-check the next schedule date if the vaccine requires a booster in a shorter timeframe (like 3 or 6 months).
