Diagnosis Management
This module allows you to record and track medical conditions for your patients. You can maintain a standardized library of diseases, define how severe a condition is, and automatically warn staff about high-risk conditions directly on the patient's main profile.
When Do I Use This?
- When a doctor confirms a patient has a specific illness or condition and it needs to be added to their medical record.
- When you need to alert other nurses or doctors about a critical condition (like a severe allergy or chronic illness).
- When building or updating your clinic's standard list of diseases and severity levels.
How To Use
1. Recording a Patient Diagnosis
- Navigate to the Diagnosis screen.
- Click + New to create a new record.
- Select the Patient from the dropdown list.
- Select the Disease and the Severity.
- Enter the Onset Date (when the patient first got sick or was diagnosed).
- Add any extra details in the Note field.
- Click Save.
2. Adding a New Disease to the System
If a disease is not in your dropdown list, you can add it to the master list.
- Navigate to the Diseases screen.
- Click + New.
- Enter the Name and Code (like an ICD-10 code).
- Fill out the genetic information fields if required by your specialty.
- Click Save.
3. Setting up Severity Levels
- Navigate to the Severity screen.
- Click + New.
- Enter a Name (e.g., "Mild", "Critical").
- Check the Alert box if this level is dangerous and requires staff to be warned instantly.
- Click Save.
Field Descriptions
Diagnosis Form
| Field Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Disease | The specific illness or medical condition being diagnosed. |
| Patient | The patient who has the condition. |
| Onset Date | The date the symptoms started or the diagnosis was made. |
| Severity | How severe the condition is (e.g., Mild, Moderate, Severe). |
| Active | Check this box if the patient currently has the condition. Uncheck it if they are cured or in remission. |
| Note | Any extra comments or observations from the doctor or nurse. |
Disease Form
| Field Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The common or medical name of the disease. |
| Code | The standard medical billing or reference code (e.g., ICD-10). |
| Protein / Chromosome / Gene | Specific genetic tracking details. These are optional unless required by your lab or specialty. |
Severity Form
| Field Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The title of the severity level (e.g., "Life-Threatening"). |
| Code | A short code for the severity. |
| Alert | Important: Checking this box will force the system to display a red warning label on the patient's dashboard whenever they are diagnosed with this severity. |
| Description | Guidelines on when staff should select this severity level. |
Tip: If a patient's condition goes away, edit their Diagnosis and uncheck the Active box. This keeps the disease in their medical history but automatically removes any red warning alerts from their main dashboard so staff only see current issues.
