Practitioners
This module allows you to manage the healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, therapists, etc.) who work at your facility. It links a person's basic profile to their professional medical credentials, allowing them to be assigned to appointments, write prescriptions, and authorize medical documents.
When Do I Use This?
- When hiring or onboarding a new doctor or nurse to the clinic.
- When updating a provider's medical license number or specialty.
- When updating the digital signature that appears on a doctor's printed documents.
- When deactivating a provider who no longer works at your facility.
How To Use
Adding a New Practitioner
- Navigate to the Professionals or Practitioners section from the main menu.
- Click the + New button.
- Select the Party (the person's profile). Note: The person must already be added to the system as a Party/Person.
- Select their medical Speciality from the drop-down list.
- Enter their License No and HPI (Health Provider Index).
- Add their Signature text or notes in the text box provided.
- Ensure the Active box is checked so they can be scheduled for appointments.
- Click Save.
Deactivating a Practitioner
If a doctor or nurse leaves your facility, you should deactivate them rather than delete them. This keeps their past medical records intact.
- Open the practitioner's record.
- Uncheck the Active box.
- Click Save.
