Speciality

The Speciality module allows you to define and manage the different medical departments or areas of practice within your healthcare facility. By setting up specialities (such as Cardiology, Pediatrics, or General Practice), you can properly categorize your doctors, organize schedules, and route patients to the correct departments.

When Do I Use This?

• When your clinic or hospital opens a new department.
• When you are setting up the system for the first time and need to list all the medical services your facility provides.
• When you hire a specialist in a field that isn't currently listed in your system.

How To Use

Adding a New Speciality

1. Navigate to the Speciality module from your main menu.
2. Click the + New button to open the speciality form.
3. Select your organization or clinic in the Party field.
4. Type the name of the medical field in the Description box (e.g., "Neurology").
5. Ensure the Active checkbox is ticked so it can be used immediately.
6. Click Save to add the speciality to your system.

Deactivating an Old Speciality

If your facility no longer offers a specific medical service, you should deactivate it rather than delete it. This keeps your past patient and doctor records intact.

1. Find the speciality in your list and click on it to open.
2. Uncheck the Active box.
3. Click Save. It will no longer appear as an option when assigning new doctors or booking new appointments.
