Anatomy Overview
The Anatomy module is used to set up and manage the visual dental chart for your clinic. It allows you to define the different parts of the mouth, such as specific teeth (e.g., Molars, Incisors) and their individual surfaces, so they display correctly when charting a patient's dental records.
When Do I Use This?
- When your clinic is first setting up the Minerva system and you need to configure the dental chart.
- When you need to add a new visual representation for a specific tooth or mouth structure.
- When you want to hide (deactivate) an anatomy graphic that your clinic no longer uses in patient charts.
How To Use
Adding a New Tooth or Anatomy Part
- Go to Dentistry → Anatomy from the main menu.
- Click the + New button.
- Enter the Name of the tooth (e.g., "First Molar").
- Provide a short Description of the anatomy part.
- Enter the visual drawing codes into the Paths field. (Note: This is usually provided by your IT team or copied from an existing template).
- Ensure the Active box is checked so doctors and nurses can see it on the chart.
- Click Save.
Deactivating an Anatomy Part
If you no longer want a specific tooth graphic to appear on your charting screens, simply open the record, uncheck the Active box, and click Save.
Field Descriptions
| Field Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The clinical name of the tooth or anatomy part (e.g., "Molar", "Incisor"). This is how it will be labeled in the system. |
| Description | Additional details or notes about this anatomy part. |
| Paths | The visual coordinates (system code) that tell the software exactly how to draw the tooth surfaces (top, root, sides) on the screen. |
| Active | Controls whether this anatomy part is currently usable. If unchecked, it will be hidden from new patient charts. |
Tip: The Paths field requires a specific technical format to draw the graphic correctly. If you are adding a new tooth, it is highly recommended to reach out to your system administrator or copy the exact formatting from an existing tooth setup!
