Radiology Panels
The Radiology Panel module allows you to group multiple individual radiology examinations (like X-rays or scans) into a single, easy-to-order package. By linking these panels to a specific billing product and report template, you streamline both the ordering process for doctors and the billing process for accountants.
When Do I Use This?
- When doctors frequently order a standard set of scans together (e.g., "Trauma Protocol CT" which includes Head, Neck, and Chest scans).
- When you offer special health checkup packages that include multiple different imaging tests under one price.
- When you need to ensure technicians perform a specific sequence of tests every time a certain procedure is requested.
How To Use
Creating a New Radiology Panel
- Go to the Radiology module from the main menu and select Panels.
- Click the + New button.
- Enter a descriptive Name and a unique Code for the panel.
- Select the Product to link this panel to the correct pricing and billing item.
- Choose a master Template if you want a specific layout for the final radiology report.
Adding Examinations to the Panel
Once the main panel details are filled out, you need to specify which individual tests belong inside it.
- Scroll down to the Examinations section.
- Click Add Row.
- Select the specific Examination (e.g., "Chest X-Ray PA").
- Set the Sequence number to define the order in which the tests should appear or be performed (e.g., 1, 2, 3).
- Repeat until all necessary examinations are added.
- Click Save to activate your new panel.
Field Descriptions
Main Panel Details

| Name | The full title of the panel (e.g., "Complete Abdomen Ultrasound Series"). This is what doctors will see when ordering. |
| Code | A short identifier or abbreviation for the panel (e.g., "US-ABD-COMP"). |
| Product | The service item linked to your billing system. This ensures the patient is charged the correct amount for the entire panel. |
| Template | The standard document format used by the radiologist to write their findings for this specific panel. |
| Description | Any internal notes or instructions about what this panel entails. |
| Active | Must be checked for the panel to be visible and available for new orders. |
Examinations (Detail Fields)
| Field Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Examination | The specific individual imaging test to be included in the bundle. |
| Sequence | A number determining the order of this test within the panel. Lower numbers (1, 2) are performed or listed first. |
| Template | (Optional) A specific report layout dedicated just to this individual test, overriding the main panel template if needed. |
Tip: Always double-check that the Product you select matches the pricing intended for the bundle. Sometimes panels are priced at a discount compared to buying each examination individually!
