Radiology Dashboard Overview

The Radiology Dashboard is the central control center for your entire imaging department. It provides quick access to everything you need to manage patient scan requests, operate imaging equipment, write medical reports, and view patient images.

When Do I Use This?

  • When starting your shift in the Radiology or Imaging department.
  • When you need to review incoming orders for X-Rays, MRIs, or Ultrasounds from doctors.
  • When you are a radiologist ready to read scans and type up final reports.
  • When managing your imaging machines (Modalities) or standardizing your report templates.

How To Use

Navigating the Dashboard

  1. Go to Health → Radiology from the main system menu.
  2. The Radiology Dashboard will load, displaying a menu of all available radiology modules.
  3. Click on any of the menu options (such as Requests or Reports) to jump directly into that specific area.

Dashboard Menu Options

Instead of standard fields, this dashboard contains links to several key areas. Here is what each section does:

Menu Item Description
Request Incoming orders from doctors for patient imaging (e.g., a doctor requesting a chest X-Ray).
Panel Pre-defined groups of imaging tests that are often ordered together.
Examination The specific imaging studies or procedures being performed on the patient.
Modality Your specific imaging machines (e.g., "MRI Room 1", "Portable X-Ray Unit 3").
Modality Type The general categories of imaging equipment (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound, CR).
Template Pre-written text blocks for standard results (e.g., "Normal Chest X-Ray") to help radiologists write reports faster.
Report The finalized interpretation of the scan written by the radiologist for the referring doctor to read.
PACS Dashboard Picture Archiving and Communication System. This is where you go to actually view the digital images/scans of the patient.
Tip: If you work full-time in the Radiology department, bookmark this dashboard! It connects you to every tool you need, saving you from navigating through the main system menus repeatedly.
