Donor Management
The Donor module allows you to keep track of individuals who donate (such as blood or plasma) at your healthcare facility or laboratory. It links a donor's activity directly to their central patient profile, keeping all their medical history in one place.
When Do I Use This?
- When an individual arrives at the clinic or lab to make a donation.
- When you need to record specific health observations, restrictions, or special instructions about a regular donor.
- When reviewing a donor's past notes before allowing them to donate again.
How To Use
Registering a Donor
- Navigate to the Laboratory or Health module from the main menu, then select Donors.
- Click + New to create a new donor record.
- In the Patient field, search for and select the individual. (Note: They must already be registered as a patient in the system.)
- Enter any relevant health observations or donation instructions in the Note field.
- Click Save to register the donor.
Field Descriptions
| Field Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Patient | The registered profile of the person making the donation. Typing in this field will search your existing patient records. |
| Note | Any important details about the donor. You can use this to document things like past adverse reactions to donating, specific eligibility criteria, or general medical remarks. |
Tip: If a first-time donor walks in, you will need to register them in the main Patient module first before you can select them here in the Donor screen.
