Report
Last updated: 2026-03-29
Overview
The Lab Report module automatically compiles patient test results into a formal, structured document. It groups results by medical discipline (e.g., Hematology, Microbiology), applies your clinic's official templates, and provides a built-in AI assistant to generate a brief clinical interpretation of the findings. Once reviewed, authorized staff can electronically sign the report to finalize it.
When Do I Use This?
- When a patient's lab tests are completed and you need to generate the final official document.
- When a pathologist or senior doctor needs to review and sign off on laboratory results.
- When you need a quick, AI-generated clinical summary of a complex set of test results.
- When test results have been amended and you need to regenerate an updated version of a previously printed report.
How To Use
1. Generating a New Report
Reports are generated directly from a patient's Lab Request.
- Open the completed Lab Request.
- Click Create Report.
- The system will automatically compile all test results, format the pages, and build the document.
- Behind the scenes, the AI Assistant will read the results and write a brief summary in the Interpretation field.
2. Updating a Report
If test results are changed or added after the report was initially generated, you must update the report to reflect the new data.
- Open the existing Report.
- Click Update Report.
- The system will rebuild the document and ask the AI to generate a fresh interpretation.
3. Signing a Report
Signing a report marks it as verified and approved by an authorized medical professional.
- Open a generated Report.
- Review the test results in the Body and the AI summary in the Interpretation field.
- Click Sign Report.
- Your name and the current date will be permanently attached to the report.

| Interpretation | A brief clinical summary of the findings automatically generated by the Minerva AI Pathology Advisor. Note: This field is read-only. |
| Note | Any manual comments or notes added by the lab staff regarding this specific report. |

| Color | The color used to highlight this status in lists and dashboards. |

Tip: If you click Update Report on a document that has already been signed, the system will automatically remove the signature. This is a safety measure to ensure that a doctor must re-review and re-sign any report where the underlying medical data has changed.
Note on Layouts: The system automatically groups test results by medical discipline. If a request contains both Blood tests (Hematology) and Urine tests (Microbiology), the system will automatically insert page breaks so that each discipline starts on a fresh, cleanly formatted page.
