Provider Directory
This module allows you to maintain a centralized list of healthcare providers. In the context of your health lab, a "Provider" is typically a referring doctor, an external clinic, or a hospital that sends patients to your facility for testing or treatment.
When Do I Use This?
- When a new doctor starts referring patients to your lab and needs to be selectable in your system.
- When setting up a list of partner clinics and hospitals your lab works with.
- When you need to fix a typo in a doctor's name so it prints correctly on lab reports.
How To Use
Adding a New Provider
- Go to Health Lab → Providers from the main menu.
- Click the + New button.
- Enter the complete Name of the doctor or facility.
- Click Save. The provider is now available for receptionists to select when registering patients.
Updating an Existing Provider
- Open the Providers list.
- Use the search bar to find the specific provider.
- Click on their name to open the record.
- Update the Name field as needed.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Field Descriptions
| Field Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The official name of the physician or medical facility (e.g., "Dr. Sarah Jenkins" or "City General Hospital"). This is what prints on patient reports. |
| Created On / Created By | System Generated: Automatically records the date and the staff member who originally added this provider. |
| Modified On / Modified By | System Generated: Automatically tracks the last time this provider's record was updated and who made the change. |
Tip: Agree on a standard naming format with your team (for example, always using "Dr." before a physician's name, like "Dr. John Smith"). This makes it much easier for your reception desk to quickly search and select the correct provider using the autocomplete tool during busy patient registrations.
